The Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced a retrospective of the films of Pam Grier, from the star-making Foxy Brown to the revivalist Jackie Brown. Called "Foxy: The Complete Pam Grier," the retrospective will feature a comprehensive look at the work of the award-winning actress, who rose to fame in the 1970s as a star of Blaxploitation films and continues to work today.

The North Carolina native got her start when an agent discovered her in a beauty contest. She had her big screen debut in 1970's Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. Grier became an icon of the urban film movement of the 1970s and one of only a handful of actors whose careers thrived even after that era. She paid tribute to her Blaxploitation roots in 1997's Jackie Brown, directed by Quentin Tarantino

Grier will be present at many of the screenings herself and will participate in audience Q&A sessions. Click here for the schedule of this can't-miss experience.
