It's not all bad news for Kevin Clash

The voice actor, who has been battling multiple lawsuits over alleged improper conduct with minors, has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for his work on Sesame Street. Clash had been the voice of children's character Elmo for many years before leaving his post last year, when allegations surfaced that he had solicited sex from underage boys years ago. Clash has maintained his innocence of the charges, but the scandal did cost him his job on the long-running children's program.

“We’re delighted Kevin’s talents and contributions continue to be recognized by the entertainment industry,” says Clash's lawyer Michael Bergen, adding that the actor “wants to return to work in the industry he’s committed his entire life to.” Clash was also the subject of the 2011 documentary Being Elmo

Other celebs up for Daytime Emmy nods include Steve Harvey, who is recognized for both his eponymous talk show and for hosting Family Feud. In the later category, he will compete with Wayne Brady, recognized for Let's Make a Deal.
