Looks like Ride Along is the first box office smash of the new year. The comedy, starring Ice Cube and Kevin Hart, topped the weekend box office for the second week in a row, pulling in another $21.2 million for a domestic total of over $75 million. The film is performing like gangbusters thanks in large part to Black audiences, who make up about 50 percent of ticket buyers, and Latino audiences.

Lone Survivor, starring Mark Wahlberg, came in second place with $12.6 million and a domestic total of $93.6 million. The pro-military film has been playing especially well in America's heartland. The Nut Job, Frozen and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit rounded out the top five.

The weekend's new entry, I, Frankenstien, was a huge flop, grossing just $8.3 million. The film, which cost $65 million to make, is an action-adventure take on the classic tale starring Aaron Eckhart.

Next week, Michael B. Jordan comes back to the big screen for the first time since Fruitvale Station in That Awkward Moment.
