Three of our favorite Oscar nominees are lining up their next roles. Octavia Spencer, Quvenzhané Wallis and Chiwetel Ejiofor are heading back in front of the cameras this spring with new projects.
Ejiofor, who is up for the Best Actor prize at the Academy Awards next month (for his role in 12 Years a Slave), has joined the crime thriller Triple Nine, also starring Kate Winslet. Casey Affleck will also star in the film about a group of corrupt cops who plan a grand heist.
Meanwhile, Spencer and Wallis will join forces for Fathers and Daughters, described as "a love story between a father and a daughter living 25 years apart in New York City." The film's all-star cast also boasts Russell Crowe, Diane Kruger, Amanda Seyfried and Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul.
Spencer will play the head of the psych clinic where Seyfried’s character counsels troubled children, while Wallis will play a patient at the clinic who hasn’t spoken a word for a year, since her mother was killed.
Wallis recently wrapped production on Annie, also starring Jamie Foxx, while Spencer is currently in Mississippi shooting the James Brown biopic Get on Up.
