Marlon Wayans: 'Comedy Is Colorless'

The Haunted House 2 star on his film's racial humor.

Any area within 30 square feet of Marlon Wayans turns into a party, and in our exclusive interview with the actor, it's easy to see why. Though he's a comedian at heart and can't help but entertain those around him, the Haunted House 2 writer and star is also thoughtful and thought-provoking.

We talked to Wayans about the racial humor in A Haunted House 2, the sequel to his 2013 spoof comedy hit, particularly about the shots the film takes at his interracial relationship with Jaime Pressly. "There are so many interracial couples out there, and yet nobody talks about it," says Wayans. "Through comedy, you can put all that stuff on the table."

He adds, somewhat profoundly, "comedy is colorless."

Our sit-down with Wayans wasn't all serious, though. The actor jokes about which stars he would want to be possessed by, from Samuel L. Jackson ("He can make anything sound cool") to Denzel Washington ("To up my pimp game"). Plus, which actor would he hire to be his "sex voice"?
