Jennifer Lopez may have just starred in the new thriller The Boy Next Door, but she already has her next project lined up. The singer/actress is set to star in a new drama titled Lila & Eve alongside Oscar-nominated actress Viola Davis.
Set to debut at the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 30, the film reflects an issue that is common in today's society: the attacking of unarmed civilians, Indiewire reports.
Penned by Pat Gilfillan, Lila & Eve follows the life of a woman named Lila, played by Davis, who is mourning the death of her son, who was murdered in a drive-by shooting. While attending a support group for mothers suffering from similar tragedies, she meets Eve, played by Lopez, whose daughter was killed the same day. After forming an unforeseen friendship and noticing the lack of attention their children's cases are receiving, the pair decides to take matters into their own hands and proceeds to find the drug dealers who murdered their children.
Lila & Eve was produced and funded by Lifetime films in conjunction with A+E Studios.
