Box Office: Cinderella ’s Girl Power Is Number One

It was a solid weekend for the box office.

The highly anticipated live-action version of Cinderella attracted more women than any of its weekend competition, earning the top spot and taking in $70 million. The Liam Neeson and Common-starring mob tale Run All Night came in at second place with $11 million and Kingsman: The Secret Service rounds out the third slot with $6 million.


Will Smith’s Focus and robot justice flick Chappie duked it out closely at $5.85 million and $5.8 million respectively to round out the top five. Elsewhere, American Sniper kept its aim on the ninth spot by earning $2 million, which brings it’s cumulative gross to a whopping $341 million.
