Brace yourself for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The reboot of the franchise is arguably the most anticipated film of the year, and a four-minute behind-the-scenes reel of the film is doing nothing but raising the stakes. The Force Awakens debuted the "making of" featurette at San Diego's Comic-Con this weekend, and the sneak preview gives us a glimpse of all the different sets constructed for the film, a look at R2-D2, stormtroopers, a downed TIE Fighter, the new characters — including Lupita Nyong'o in her still-secret role — and classic ones.
Coolest of all is director J.J. Abrams' speech to the cast and crew on the first day of shooting. "How incredible is that," the director asks.
"Real sets. Practical effects. You've been here, but you don't know this story," Mark Hamill, the original Luke Skywalker, says in the video. "Nothing's changed, really. I mean, everything's changed, but nothing's changed. That's the way you want it to be."
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18th.
