Justin Bieber Insists Kylie Jenner's Cornrows Are Not Racist

Hunger Games actress Amandla Stenberg accused the reality star of appropriation based on her new 'do.

The circle of people involved in Kylie Jenner and Amandla Stenberg's social media fight over cornrows now includes Justin Bieber. After Hunger Games actress Stenberg wrote a critical comment on a picture Jenner rocking a fresh set of cornrows posted to Instagram, the pop star jumped to his pal's defense.

"Guys leave her alone, we're all trying to figure it out and she happens to be under a microscope!" Bieber wrote, referring to Stenberg's accusations that Jenner was appropriating Black culture with her hairstyle, while staying silent on Black issues. "I'm the first to know this. But saying she's being racist because she wants her hair in braids is ridiculous. Let's focus on the bigger picture and instead of fighting over something stupid let's do something about equality, but it doesn't start here blasting a 17 year old kid for wearing braids smh."

Jenner herself didn't stay silent in response to Stenberg's words, replying to the actress by writing, "@amandlastenberg Mad if I don't, Mad if I do…. Go hang w Jaden or something." Jaden, of course, is Jaden Smith, Kylie's ex, who went on to become Stenberg's prom date earlier this year. Teenagers.

Stenberg, meanwhile, isn't backing down. She followed up her comments with a lengthy post on racial and gender double standards, posted to Twitter. "End the 'angry black girl' narrative. It's just another attempt to undermine certain perspectives. I have strong opinions. I am not angry," she wrote.

It's just a matter of time before the Kardashian sisters jump to the young cub's defense.
