Lee Daniels Did Not Take Empire 's Emmys Snub Graciously

But the filmmaker gets high praise from Mo'Nique.

Lee Daniels reacted to Empire's lack of Emmy nominations as only Lee Daniels could: brutal honesty, and plenty of expletives.
The co-creator of the hit show shared his thoughts on the nominations in an Instagram video with star Jussie Smollett. "Jussie is saying I have to be politically correct on Instagram or I'm going to get in trouble," Daniels began, while Smollett commands, "You have to be nice!"
That's not really Daniels's style, so instead he told us what he really thinks of Emmy voters: "F*** those motherf***ers!"
Meanwhile, Mo'Nique — who was nominated for her supporting role in HBO's Bessie despite Daniels's declaration that she had been blackballed in the industry — had nothing but nice things to say about Daniels, though some people on the Internet are interpreting her comments that "what you put out is what you get back" as shade towards her Precious director.
“In reference to Empire, I believe that it’s one of the most amazing shows in television history," Mo tells TheWrap. "It’s breaking all kinds of records. When it comes to that show, I stand up and applaud it. I applaud Lee Daniels and his vision. Everything that’s happening to that brother right now, he deserves it."
