Nicki Minaj's empire just keeps growing and growing and her latest move is sure to bring a lot more acclaim to her brand. The Queen Barb is officially confirmed to executive produce and appear in an ABC Family scripted comedy series based on her life.

According to Variety, the currently untitled single-camera, half-hour project will be built around her life growing up in Queens after her family immigrated from Trinidad. It will also explore her personal and musical growth through the years, leading to her eventual super-stardom.

"This is one of the more unique adventures I've ever embarked on," she said. "I couldn't be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special."

Nicki tapped the best of the best to bring this project to life. Kate Angelo (Will and Grace, Bernie Mac) wrote the pilot and will write and executive produce the series along with Minaj, Aaron Kaplan (Chasing Life, Divorce), Stella Bulochnikov and Brian Sher (Boss), and Gee Roberson.

"Nicki Minaj is a force to be reckoned with at everything she touches," said Karey Burke, executive vice president of programming and development at ABC Family. "We're beyond thrilled to bring her one-of-a-kind story to your channel. Nicki is an international superstar, yet not everyone knows how inspiring and hilarious her true story is, and we can't wait to share it with the world."
