Furious 7 star Michelle Rodriguez has a gripe with some of the members of the LGBT community who are upset about her new film, Tomboy, which deals with gender reassignment. According to the acrtess, they're missing the bigger picture.

Tomboy's plot follows a male assassin who is tricked into undergoing gender reassignment surgery, and some memebrs of the LGBT community — and GLAAD, in particular — are fuming at the storyline.

When TMZ caught up with Rodriguez, she explained that the movie in itself in a victory for the transgender community, which the wider LGBT community should be proud to see.

"If anything, it's freaking promoting it [trans rights]," she said. "You know what I mean? No press is bad press, baby. I remember a day when white people were playing Black people. So, it's just about the evolution. Thank [Bruce] Jenner for becoming who he became and now you have a popular subject matter that nobody wanted to make a movie about and now everybody's on it."
