Marlon Wayans has had us laughing for years with parody films like A Haunted House and Scary Movie, but this new film 50 Shades of Black might just be his last one in the genre.
"I think this might be my last parody for awhile. I think in some weird capacity — I don't want to say I'm maturing, I'm forever 19 — but I want to evolve a little bit," he told Bossip.
Similar to 50 Shades of Grey, the film it spoofs, 50 Shades of Black stars Wayans as "Mr. Black," a kinky rich guy set out to seduce a student reporter — a perfect setup for comedy, according to Wayans. "What if Christian Grey was Black, he was rich, and we didn't know how he got his money? From that, we could take it anywhere," he says. "It's a funny movie. It doesn't go too far, but it does far enough."
Though Wayans says he's done with spoofs and parodies after this film, another success at the box office might change his mind. If the trailer is any indication, he has another hit on his hands. See it below.
