J. Cole is officially off the market, ladies, but he may not have wanted the news to get out the way it did — if at all. The cat hopped out the bag when Creed director Ryan Coogler accidentally spilled the private news while interviewing the "Crooked Smile" MC. Awkward.
According to E! Online, during a live stream for #MLKNow in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day in New York City, Coogler had an innocent slip-up when he asked Cole, "How did getting married change you?"
After noticing what he asked, The Forest Hills Drive rapper clammed up a bit, shocked that he was put on blast.
"I never interviewed someone before, my bad," Coogler said right after.
Cole was cool with the news being out, but gave the director some playful criticism. "That was like one thing to not do," he said. "But it's all good... They know now."

J. Cole reportedly married his longtime girlfriend, Melissa Heholt, whom he is said to have proposed to last year. The college sweethearts have been together for 10 years, meeting at St. John's University.
