Kerry Washington is known for keeping tight-lipped on her personal life, especially her marriage. But recently, she decided to break her golden rule by addressing the rumors that she and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha were having marital problems — well, sort of.
Speaking on the growing social media interest in celebrties at the SXSW Festival (via US Weekly), she said, "I think it's a double-edged sword. I think — and this is something Reese Witherspoon has talked about a lot — it's a little different for me because I don't talk about my personal life."
Directly addressing the rumors that she and her husband were having trouble in paradise, she said staying private means taking the good with the bad. "If I don't talk about my personal life, it means I don't talk about my personal life," she said. "That means not only did I not tell you when I was getting married, it also means if somebody has rumors about what's going on in my marriage, I don't refute them, because I don't talk about my personal life."
The divorce rumors started in December 2015, but were quickly shut down by a source, saying that the split chatter was all false. No scandal here.
