Gayle King Explains What's Really Going on With Oprah and Tyler Perry

The mogul's BFF addressed the rumor on Instagram.

After a rumor recently surfaced that dynamic duo Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry were at odds, many were left confused and curious as to what caused the alleged feud. Now Oprah's BFF Gayle King is setting the record straight, addressing the random rumor on Instagram.

The original article, posted by The Daily Mail, quotes a "source close to the two Hollywood moguls" as saying their relationship became strained because the Madea franchise star refused to acknowledge Oprah's suggestions for his show.

"When Tyler first bought his shows to OWN in 2012, it was a love affair between the two of them," the source said. "Oprah was very involved in watching Tyler develop them creatively, and they even shot promos together with her as Miss Sophia from The Color Purple and he as Madea. But that relationship has soured in the last six months because Oprah finds Tyler difficult to work with and he doesn't take constructive criticism well at all."

This source even took things a step further, claiming that Oprah and Tyler were on such terrible terms that they ceased all communication with each other all together: "Gone were the days of them having long phone conversations and texting late into the night."

If Gayle's response holds any truth, this can now all be swept under the rug.
