Rachel Dolezal is making headlines again, and this time more controversy follows, of course. While the infamous race-faker slid under the radar for some time, she recently resurfaced during an interview with the Today show, revealing she has a book in the works. The topic: racial identification.
"A lot of people have reached out to me, which has been another bright spot about this," she said. "I've heard a lot of stories from people about their lives being caught in the boundaries of race. Because race is such a contentious issue, it's really important to think through a lot of those topics and questions people have. Why do we still want to go back to the world of separate races?"
The irony in this one is thick. Host Savannah Guthrie went on to ask Dolezal if she had any regrets about lying about being Black now that the hype has subsided, but as usual, she danced around the question.
"It's a complex issue," she said. "How do you sum up a whole life of coming into who you are with a sound bite?"
