Bad News: Is Bill Cosby One Big Step Closer to Prison?

The court delivers a major blow to his case.

Bill Cosby is pretty much out of options. Despite his team's many efforts to have the criminal case against him dismissed, the trial will go on, according to a judge's orders. Cosby has been charged with aggravated indecent assault against former Temple University employee Andrea Constand, who claims the TV icon attacked her at his Pennsylvania mansion in 2004.

The Cosby Show star's attorneys tried to have the case tossed on the basis of a decade-old deal he made with the former district attorney Bruce Castor, who allegedly vowed not to prosecute Cosby if he agreed to give a deposition in Constand's civil case. (That deposition shocked the world last year, when Cosby admitted to drugging women for sex.) Now, a judge has ruled that the agreement has no validity and the case can move forward.

"We are ready for that [preliminary] hearing and look forward to the Court setting a date so we can present our case," current Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Cosby's wife, Camille Cosby, was forced to give multiple depositions earlier this month in connection to the case.
