I HATE HORROR FILMS!
Well maybe hate is a strong word, let's just say that I don't understand the fascination people have with dropping ten bucks to get their "scare" on. I'm not a punk or anything, but horror films are my least favorite films to watch.
I overheard a conversation between a young teen couple about horror films they were looking forward to checking out. Between twisted logic involving the escape in the "Saw" series, Milla Jovovich kickin' ass
in "Resident Evil: Extinction" and finally how the new "Halloween" was like that.
What the Flick is sexy about horror?
Black characters are usually few and far in between in scary movies. Either running for cover or being the first ones sacrificed, Black characters in horror films go together like drop tops on a rainy day. Many horror films have ridiculous examples of young White kids being in the wrong place at the wrong time using crazy ass judgement -- which usually gets them killed, dismembered or in some cases - both.
Other than "Tales From the Hood," I can't honestly think of any other recent horror films with Black leads. Why are so many people "dying" to be scared?
