Filmmaker Spike Lee has scored a couple of "firsts" recently. One, he completed his first war film "Miracle at St. Anna." And, two he's about to revisit his past for the first time on screen.
Lee, who directed Denzel Washington, Chiwetel Ejofor and Clive Owen in the hugely successful "Inside Man," has signed on to direct the sequel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Inside Man 2" (the working title) will feature the same characters but in a different situation. In the original Owen played a bank robber who was involved in a hostage standoff with Washington, a negotiator. Lee told reporters at the Toronto International Film Festival where he was premiering "St. Anna" over the weekend that both Owen and Washington were interested in coming back.
The original fim was Lee's highest grossing flick ever, pulling in $175 million worldwide.
