We've all been waiting for
Nicki Minaj
to make her acting debut—and swinging that lace-front in the "Right Thru Me" video doesn't count! Well, Miss Nicki landed her first movie role, which will be lending her voice to the fourth installment of the
Ice Age
franchise,
Ice Age: Continental Drift
.
The Queens native is known for her various voices so a role in this computer-animated film is a perfect fit. No word on what character Minaj will play. I am hoping for some type of prehistoric animal diva with big hair and a healthy backside who's able to let out a big roar. But expect to see more of a family side of the rapper. The last
Ice Age
film made over $886 million at the box office, making it the third-highest-grossing animated film of all time--Nicki better squeeze a song into that soundtrack!
Ice Age
first made its debut in 2002, and since then actors like
Cedric the Entertainer, John Leguizamo
and
Queen Latifah
have lent their voices.
Ice Age: Continental Drift
is due in theaters in 2012.
