Dear BFF,

I am 5 ft and 173 lbs! I have no idea what to wear anymore. Most of my weight is in my stomach area. I need help on how to dress in order to hide my belly. I look as if I'm pregnant. I am working on losing the weight, but until then I still have to go to work. What do you suggest I wear so I don't look and feel so fat!?

A few simple fashion tricks can minimize your tummy bulge and make stressin’ over that annoying lady lump a thing of the past.
FASHION TIP: I’m happy you’re attempting to lose weight. Good. In the meantime, don’t let those extra pounds wear you. Wear the extra pounds!

How your clothes fit can make all the difference in the world when it comes to looking and feeling confident. First, pick a focus. Avoid pairing tight with tight or baggy with baggy. No more clingy tops with tight skirts that draw attention to your rolls. V-necks and open collars as necklines draw attention to your face and away from your chest. Find an H&M, Forever 21 or Wet Seal in your area and find some empire waist shirts (seam under the bust) to pair with jeans. They’re perfect for hiding the tummy because they’re semi-fitted, accentuate the breast and fall, loosely just below your waist. Also, long loose camis with a band at the hem, or metalicus singlets and dresses are all great and quite comfy. Any vertical detailing is your friend, as is anything with a knot-front which rests just over the stomach. Avoid any clothing combination that defines your waist, including any belted or drawstring looks. And of course black will always have your back, but don’t overdue it.

Hope I helped. Good luck!
