Recipes By Johnson Lactaid: Cream of Tomato Soup

Sylvia’s Cream of Tomato Soup

Makes 4 servings 

Preparation Time: 5 min.
Cook Time: 15 min.


2 tbsp. olive oil
2 tbsp. flour
¾ tsp.  Italian seasoning
¼ tsp.  black pepper
2 cups  LACTAID® Fat Free Milk
2 cups  canned crushed tomatoes in tomato puree


1. HEAT olive oil in a 2 ½ quart saucepan for about 5 minutes.
2. WHISK in flour, salt, Italian seasoning, and pepper.  Cook until flour is absorbed, about 2-5 minutes.  
3. Slowly ADD LACTAID® Fat Free Milk and tomatoes, stirring constantly.  Heat just to boiling.
4. SIMMER for 5 minutes and serve warm.
