R&B singer Estelle has taken the fashion world by storm this year. Two runway shows at New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week featured the British beauty, and the Jeremy Scott Runway Show highlighted her newest single, “Freak.” As a model in the Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection and the Relief for Haiti Show, sponsored by supermodel Naomi Campbell, Estelle has found an appreciation for fashion and the behind-the-scenes excitement that transforms chaos to beauty.
Estelle has collaborated with designer Rachel Roy to create a jewelry collection featuring unique accessories detailed with gold and jeweled accents. One of the necklaces boasts the phrase, “I Feel Famous.” It is a slogan that started as an onstage reaction when fans would congratulate her, and Estelle describes it as a personal “feel good” expression that any woman experiences. Her collaboration with Rachel Roy is now “famous.”
“She's pretty great at what she does, which is no surprise,” Estelle says of Roy. “She gave me two great lessons in design: how to link all your work/collection together, and how to edit.”
With a new album set to be released this summer, Estelle has undoubtedly found her own place in music and fashion. After a successful launch of her jewelry line, could there be more fashion in her future?
“Maybe, I’ve got the bug now,” she admits. There’s no doubt that this bug will be contagious amongst all fans and fashionistas.
