Many people consider Nicki Minaj a trendsetter, but recently she admitted to being inspired by an unlikely character. The oversized “Gumby” styled wigs that she’s been sporting lately were inspired by the beloved mother on the Simpsons cartoon. “Never did I think I would be rocking the Marge Simpson. But you know what, now that I am wearing them I realize that she was cutting edge and before her time. So shout out to Marge,” Nicki told People.

The Young Money hit maker has taken Marge’s infamous blue hair and made it her own by reshaping it a little and remixing it with an array of colors. “My wigs are ever changing in height, width, color, size. They make me feel happy. Wearing them makes me feel that I can be a different person every day and that is kind of exciting,” she explains.

Hey, whatever floats Nicki’s boat!
