Mane Event: Angela Simmons Talks Hair Care

The business woman dishes a few dos and don’ts when it comes to her hair.

Angela Simmons has a beautiful head of hair, but it’s unlikely that you’ll actually get a glimpse of it. Aside from twitter candids and impromptu vacays, Angela recently revealed that she rarely wears her long, thick mane out because it’s “too much of hassle.” But, lucky for you hair enthusiasts, she did dish to blog “Black Girl Long Hair” about how she keeps her strands so healthy.

“I just keep it braided up a lot,” she explains. “For the most part I stay in the hair salon a lot and get my hair done a lot, so I kind of lean on my hairdressers for that,” referring to her routine maintenance.  “When I go, I do deep conditioners and sit under a dryer or steamer.”

The co-creator of Pastry is definitely a trendsetter, but one of her recent hair adventures could have left her bald. “I had a blonde weave, you know, I had that moment where I wanted to go blonde. And I bleached some of my hair and it broke off and that was a bad idea. So I don’t suggest that anyone bleach their hair.”

Her top hair secret? “I do suggest Moroccan oil. It’s amazing.”
