Solange can pull off practically any look. The singer and newest style icon is featured in the November issue of Lucky magazine and on the Web as the pub’s “Lucky Girl” of the month. Inside the issue, Solo wears a vintage-inspired, periwinkle gown with her '90s braids wrapped up in a pretty bun. Credit is definitely due to the eclectic soul who’s made the hair trend fun again. Most women wouldn’t dare step in the direction of the retro ‘do, but Solo makes it totally doable for those willing to take a risk.

The second look didn’t tickle our fancies like the first, but the styling of the braids worked in her favor. Individually, the pieces are noteworthy — especially that plush leopard skirt.

On the website, Solange explains the inspiration behind some of her favorite looks and how to work her braided beauty. “Simple, masculine silhouettes work best with this hair,” dished Solo, who says she started wearing the braids as a teenager for convenience and brought them back just to try something new yet familiar. always gives you the latest fashion and beauty trends, tips and news.
