The DJ says her album has "a lot of sexual vibes."

Solange Knowles recently graced the colorful cover of Time Out New York's "Spring Issue" and now the stylish DJ is going retro glam on the pages of London Evening Standard Magazine. Staged at Bowlmor Lanes in Times Square, she's rocking vintage couture, shades and…bowling balls? Oddly enough Beyoncé's little sister makes the whole thing work channeling the '50s and '60s with a modern-day twist in Nina Ricci and Diane von Furstenberg.

In her interview, Knowles revealed what it was like to grow up alongside a megastar and how close she and Beyoncé have been since childhood.

“My sister was very protective of me, and we were very sweet with each other," she said. "I’m sure if we were closer in age we wouldn’t have gotten along so great. But we’ve been super-close ever since I was about 13.”

Knowles also discussed the sexy vibes pulsating through her latest album, which is set to drop this summer.

"There’s a lot of sexual vibes on it. I think I just finally started having good sex," Knowles said. "This woman came up to me the other day and said, 'You know, I think people dress a lot better when they’re in love with themselves, with other people, or with where their life is.'"

But despite Knowles's rising success, you won't see the DJ signing on to a major label anytime soon as she prefers managing her own business and artistic development.

"I don’t think there’s a need if you are able to fund it yourself and have a strong sense of development as an artist. It means you aren’t dependent on some A&R dude to position you with writers or producers or figure out your next direction. Major labels act as banks in terms of how they produce and release your album. No major label is really good or bad, they just 100 percent operate as a business, which makes sense…no hard feelings.” always gives you the latest fashion and beauty trends, tips and news.
