About that Twitter account that popped up last week for Kanye West’s “DW” Fashion line? Yeah, he says it’s a fake.

Rumors have been flying that the rapper is planning on relocating to London permanently to focus on his fashion career and when the Twitter handle @DWbyKanye popped up on December 28, it seemed like we were in for all the updates on what’s been happening with the line since it debuted at Paris Fashion Week last year, but fashion is flooded with counterfeits and here, that seeped onto the web. ‘Ye took to his verified Twitter account (@kanyewest) today to set the record straight:

“I appreciate everyone's support for my clothing line but I wanted to clarify a few things...The name of the line is Kanye West not DW... The Dw was a design element placed on the invite in homage to my mom : )” he said (and rather politely, might we point out. No all caps, smiley face and everything!). He added, “I really appreciate the fake DW twitter page but since it's not official I can't co sign any information on it.”

Well that was fun while it lasted.

Kanye didn’t offer up any new details on the line, though he’s reportedly gearing up to showing again at Paris Fashion Week this March. always gives you the latest fashion and beauty trends, tips and news. We are committed to bringing you the best of Black lifestyle and celebrity culture.
