André Leon Talley may have stepped down as Vogue's editor-at-large earlier this year and has been filling the same position over at Numéro Russia, but in 2014 he'll have another feather to add to his cap. Talley has been named artistic director for Zappos Couture as the online shoe retailer plans to expand its offerings to include luxury products.
According to WWD, Talley will oversee editorial content, which will include photo shoots, videos and fashion trends. While the Amazon-owned shopping site has done well in Middle America for footwear, the brand is still trying to elevate its image to stand beside other high-end boutiques. They're hoping Talley's reputation can help them achieve this mission.
"The digital universe is a new, exciting opportunity for me to reach a broad audience in terms of the global luxury market," Talley said. He added that his goal is to create "something unique, in terms of a Web magazine within the Zappos Couture website, that conveys the immediacy and excitement of luxury retail products, season by season."
This one-year partnership will be Talley's first with a retailer and we're looking forward to seeing his content roll out on the site beginning January 22.
