Folks may still be buzzing about what caused the physical confrontation between Solange Knowles and brother-in-law Jay Z inside an elevator the night of the Met Gala in May, but things couldn’t be better in the Knowles-Carter clan.

Breaking her silence on the incident inside the August issue of Lucky magazine, Solange explains, “What’s important is that my family and I are all good. What we had to say collectively was in the statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with that."

Well, there you have it.

But the Lucky cover girl does have a whole lot more to stay about her fashion transformation into the color-and-prints-loving goddess we know today. Perhaps most memorable? An extravagant Harajuku Girl phase occurring after she visited Tokyo the summer before sixth grade.

“It was not good,” she muses. “I had on stars-and-stripes stockings with a poufy skirt, two balls in my head, some crazy sweater and platform sneakers. When I went to the Sharpstown Mall in Houston with a friend, people were falling out laughing. It was a hot mess, but I was committed.”

Commitment is also the best word to sum up her family life. On the lessons her parents instilled in both herself and sister Beyoncé, she says, “We’ve always held each other down no matter what. That’s something I’m drilling into [my son] Julez now." always gives you the latest fashion and beauty trends, tips and news.
