Nicole Richie is expanding her House of Harlow 1960 company beyond just jewelry and accessories. Now the entrepreneur is seeking to turn her business into a formidable lifestyle brand with the introduction of candles and fragrances for the home. Richie has partnered up with D.L. & Co. to create three different scents (Midnight Moon, Saint James and Winter Kate), which feature jasmine tea, coconut milk, sandalwood and other notes.
“The plan has always been for House of Harlow to ultimately become a lifestyle brand,” Richie told InStyle. “Home is something that’s very important to me — I design my own house, we entertain — and scents and warmth keeps the room, the energy moving. It creates a vibe for whatever space you’re in.”
And these candles won’t just make your home smell divine, they will serve as cool decor as well with gold, white and black candle holders that exude House of Harlow’s stylish Art Deco aesthetic.
“It was very important for the scents to match what House of Harlow represents — they’re warm, powerful, cool, and they represent being free and expressing yourself creatively,” Richie said. “And they become nice as a whole; they smell nice burning altogether. Mixing scents is something I like to do, something I’ve always done.”
The 14-piece home fragrance collection, which ranges in price from $35 to $39, includes candles and diffusers and is available exclusively through Gilt.com.
