Nicole Richie may have access to all the luxury brands in the world, but when it comes to her beauty routines, the fashionista seems to prefer to keep things “chill.” In a recent interview with Into the Gloss, Richie shared her must-haves and favorite products to use.

Richie stepped out with a new hair color (pink!) a few months ago and she shares that the change was completely spontaneous. She’s not afraid to mix things up on a whim and enjoys playing with new colors for her short cut. To keep her hair healthy, she said that she only washes it once a week (skip the shampoo) and deep conditions it on the weekends with raw coconut oil.

“My hair responds well to it, and it’s easy,” she said. “I personally believe that the less you do with your hair the healthier it is for it. So right now, that's all I really use on my hair. I’m into having it short because you don’t really have to think about it. I do sometimes use a dry shampoo — I like the Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk, or R + Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo."

And not only does Richie turn to coconuts to keep her hair shiny and healthy from the outside, but to also hydrate and nourish from the inside.

“For my skin, I drink a lot of water and coconut water by Harmless Harvest. I actually have very sensitive skin, so if I do anything to it, I break out. I just like to keep it as clean as I can in my everyday life,” she said. “But I do love Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer. I have dark circles naturally, so that’s the one thing I do like to have on. Then I just put on Lancer Skincare's The Method: Nourish Moisturizer, and I have a little Caudalie Beauty Elixir. You’ve got to keep it fresh throughout the day.”

Richie seemed to regret her many piercings and tattoos gathered throughout her younger years as “a 19-year-old idiot” and took a moment to share advice to her younger self.

“If I could give advice to my younger self, I would say, ‘You just got to do your thing and keep it chill,” Richie said. “Just get one look down and when you get over it, then change it.’ That’s all. Oh, and don’t over-tweeze your eyebrows.”
