Solange Knowles Releases 'Word to the Woman' Puma Collection

The sneaker brand's art director shines a light on empowered women.

Solange Knowles has released her third Puma collection and this line is dedicated to the empowered women around us. Her “Word to the Woman” collection is extra special because 14 leading ladies have been chosen for the amazing work they’re doing in their fields. Each will be featured in her own ad campaign and video interviews that will be released between the first and second launches for the campaign.


“So damn excited to present @wordtothewoman, my @puma x @saintheron collaboration celebrating women who are doing incredible innovating things and redefining their roles in various walks of life with a multi experience campaign and two collection[s],” Knowles announced on Instagram. “As usual, thank you @puma for giving me a platform with full freedom to express and support ideas, people, and projects I’m really passionate [about].”

Knowles has served as Puma’s creative consultant and art director since 2013 and we’ve loved the funky designs she’s released so far. Her latest creation combines her love for style and activism. The ads were styled by Lizzy Okpo and photographed by J. Quasi King, while Knowles managed the visuals for the campaign. The Word to the Woman sneaker is a fresh take on the suede Puma in monochromatic colors and retails for $90 through and Knowles’s label, Saint Heron.
