This year, Just Blaze was clearly on Santa’s “nice” list. The hip hop producer and bona fide sneaker fanatic appeared to receive one heck of a Christmas gift, a pair of customized Nike Air Max 90 sneakers inspired by the self-lacing Nike Mag from Back to the Future.
Blaze already has an impressive fleet of Back to the Future-inspired collector’s editions. From what we can tell from his Instagram page, his newest Air Maxes feature a slate grey upper, thick elastic laces and white soles with blue LED lights. Finally, three rows of multicolor LED lights jazz up the upper heel. The one-of-a-kind shoes (size 10.5) came in a yellow box emblazoned with the tag “Just Blaze Anti-Gravity.”
Fans will remember that the power-lacing Mags were unveiled earlier this year in time for the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future Part II, where Marty McFly time travels to the year 2015. Fittingly, Michael J. Fox, who plays McFly in the film, was the very first to demo the high-tech kicks. The self-lacing Mags are scheduled to be released via auction next year, so unless you’ve got a time-traveling DeLorean, you’ll have to wait to score a pair of your own.
