Here's How Hard You Have to Work to Look Like J.Lo

Her routine is not for amateurs.

Jennifer Lopez's face and body defy physics and gravity, but stopping aging in its tracks takes a lot of hard work. We mean, a lot. The 46-year-old style icon shared her beauty routine with and isn't shy about revealing just how much effort it takes to keep it right and tight.

The path to #flawless starts easily enough, with a good amount of shut-eye. “I try to always to get as much sleep as I can so that I can start the day well rested and do my morning meditation and affirmations,” she says.

Then comes the hard part: the morning workout. Calling her exercise regimen “hard work,” Lopez reveals she tries to do stuff she loves because she rarely takes days off. “It’s no secret that I love dancing, so it doesn’t even feel like exercise to me," she says. "I freestyle dance with Tracy Anderson five times a week. We’ll incorporate light weights (3 lbs) for the arms and moves that focus on the butt and thighs and engage the core.”

But that's not all. “I also do circuit training with David Kirsch when I’m in New York. We do hour-long circuits at least three times a week," she says. "Its full-body training — so planks, pushups, boxing — really everything. It’s all about changing it up and keeping your body guessing.”

Phew! And that's all before she hits rehearsals. As for that perfect skin, it doesn't come in the beauty aisle at the drug store. Lopez says she relies on “glycolic acid to get that healthy glow and clear skin. I never go to bed without taking my makeup off, [and I use] night creams to keep my skin hydrated." She also uses a moisturizer with SPF “every single day. You have to protect your skin.”

The last step of her beauty regimen is deceptively simple: water, and lots of it. “Sorry, it’s true! I think drinking lots of water and fresh foods with lots of fruits and vegetables (I keep [them] with me at all time.) all play into the quality of skin’s appearance,” Lopez says.

There you have it, folks. J.Lo works hard for that face and body, and if you want to look like here halfway in your 40s, you gotta put in the effort!

Of course, Ms. Lopez is far more than just a pretty face and perfect booty. The accomplished actress is Las Vegas's main attraction with her All I Have show and is breaking barriers in Hollywood, too.
