Model Chanel Iman is excited about heading to the polling booth today for her first presidential election and yesterday she took to Seventeen.com to explain who's getting her vote this year.
"This November will be the first time I'm old enough to vote in a presidential election — I was so bummed when I couldn't in 2008. I had just missed the election when I turned 18 in December four years ago, but I certainly know who I would have voted for: Barack Obama," she wrote on Seventeen.com. "Over the past four years, the President has proven time and again that I would have made the right choice. I know too that he'll continue to fight for our generation, which is exactly why I'll be voting for him this year."
Iman listed why she believes President Barack Obama has the country's best interest at heart and that he'd be the better choice between him and Republican candidate Mitt Romney.
"On issue after issue, President Obama gets it. From expanding access to affordable, quality health care, to protecting women's personal medical decisions and standing up for Planned Parenthood, to making key investments in education, to leveling the playing field so that women can fight for equal pay for equal work, to making known his support for marriage equality, he is fighting for all of us, not just some," she continued.
She urged readers to reach out to everyone they know to remind them to vote because each ballot counts.
