Robin Roberts is set to make her official return to Good Morning America on Feb. 20, but the co-host says that recovering from her bone marrow transplant had a few harrowing moments were she felt like she was "slipping away." Before her body finally accepted her sister's blood cells, Roberts felt so sick she couldn't eat, drink or get out of bed.
"I was in a coma-like state. I truly felt I was slipping away…then I kept hearing my name," she told People magazine.
It's been five months since she started undergoing treatment for her myelodysplastic syndrome, but Roberts says she's feeling better with each passing day.
"It's an amazing feeling, each day feeling stronger," she said.
