Who doesn’t get lost for hours logged on the computer streaming music, playing games or connecting with friends through social networking? The latest thing to hit Facebook, PLAY GIG-IT, merges all of these. It's a virtual concert game that allows members to channel their inner artist, bringing their desired show set list to life with a fully customizable performance. This unique gaming experience brings to life over 60 of today’s top artists, including Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross and Nas, making it Facebook’s most artist-supported game to date.
The Advisory Board, which helped shape the game, includes a number of big names in the "biz," one of which happens to be DJ Khaled, who spoke about why he signed onto the project.
“I decided to partner with PLAY GIG-IT, because they have provided that missing link. We are now able to sell our music and merchandise through this innovative platform that the game provides.”
Each artist was fully involved with the project in order to capture their likeness in their avatar, so fans can now interact with their favorite singer or rapper in a way like no other. Players select everything from the artist and the song to their wardrobe and the back-up dancers to create a personalized performance. They also have the option to choose from a library of songs or to download a new one. After creating their concert, they can share it on their Facebook timeline, earning additional GIG-IT cash for game upgrades (new venues, clothing, etc.).
