Rihanna, Quvenzhané Wallis, Janelle Monae and Others Make Forbes's 30 Under 30 List

African-Americans make their mark in the annual list of young influencers.

Forbes has released its annual 30 Under 30 list of people who have done remarkable work across 15 different categories and we're happy to see quite a few familiar faces in the mix. Among the list of young influencers are entertainers like Rihanna, Janelle Monae and Bruno Mars, who will be headlining this year's Super Bowl halftime show.

In Hollywood, Beasts of the Southern Wild's Quvenzhané Wallis and Ryan Coogler, director of Fruitvale Station, made their marks for their powerful work. Issa Rae, the creator of YouTube series The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl, is reaping the success of her popular show and has parlayed it into a writing and acting gig for her own show on HBO. Todrick Hall, a former American Idol contestant who also caught the public's attention on YouTube, is now being courted by Hollywood and is managed by Scooter Braun, the man who discovered Justin Beiber.

And we're a brainy bunch, too, as young African-Americans are also being recognized for their work in fields such as sports, marketing, media, technology and social entrepreneurship.
