Ciara recently announced her pregnancy with fiancé Future on The View Tuesday and during a subsequent interview with Huffington Post Live, the singer opened up about her pregnancy and her blended family with Future.
"It really is a blessing," Ciara said about the pregnancy. "It's the most exciting time in my life, just everything that's been happening…I'm really excited, I'm like a little kid. You know when the kids are getting ready for Christmas and you're like, 'I can't wait to see what's under that tree?' That's how I am."
The rapper proposed to Ciara with a 15-carat ring for her 28th birthday in late October and rumors began swirling soon after that they were expecting their first child together. While most parents will say they don't have a preference when it comes to the baby's gender, Ciara admits that she was pulling one way until she found out what she was having.
"I do have a preference but I don’t want to say that either. I did have a preference before I found out what it was. I had a preference at first and it was different than what I thought, but my fiancé got what he wanted. I'm excited," she said.
Ciara also dished about how she got along with the mothers of Future's other three children and it couldn't have sounded more mature.
"This is my family. They are amazing women. I like to say they are," she said. "I wanted to capture the moment of all of us being together, and shed the positive light on what everything is with my family. It's kind of a blended family concept and I wanted to shed the light on that because it's so beautiful. It's all about love and it's all about positivity and that's what I'm about. His family is my family. Anyone that comes with him, it has to be love and that's the same way that he is for me. So that's how I live. You know you can't over-think things. People can have their own way of how they look at things, and how they want to judge and speak on something, but you know what something is and that’s what matters."
