Steve Harvey continues to dispense his vast wisdom when it comes to how women should date. The Think Like a Man author and comedian has launched a new dating site that is geared towards women. Delightful.com will help users find good dating matches and provide articles and other tools to help women "become more dateable."
According to Harvey, online dating is perfectly suited for men because they like to date around. Women have a different objective, he explained to Forbes. "The one thing I know about women is women don't really want to just date," he said. "They want to date with the hope that it leads to a relationship."
The site is a partnership with IAC, the same company that owns popular dating sites like Match.com, OKCupid.com and the mobile app Tinder. With that kind of clout in the matchmaking scene, Harvey hopes to help users "find love and keep it." But the men won't be left out to dry. Delightful will also offer tips and suggestions on how to treat women with respect and be more chivalrous.
"It's sad to say, but the divorce rate in this country is so high, there are a lot of young men out there, quality men, who've never been told, 'Hey man, this is the proper way to treat a lady,'" he said.
And if you're still questioning Harvey's wisdom in the field, even with a resume that includes a self-help book that spawned two movies and acting as spokesperson for IAC's BlackPeopleMeet.com, then Harvey's quick to admit that he's learned through his failures.
"The majority of mine came from failure, to be honest with you. I've come to learn in my life that failure's a wonderful teacher. I've scooped a lot of the dog poop off the sidewalk so you wouldn't have to step in it," he said.
