Sade Says No To Drake's "Thank Me Later" Collaboration

Though Drake is one of the hottest rappers in the game right now, Sade isn’t ready to join forces with the Canadian rapper.

A few months ago, an optimistic Drake revealed that he had his eye on the legendary singer making an appearance on the his debut project, “Thank Me Later.” However, according to Sade, recording outside her comfort zone is something she’s not ready to commit to just yet.

“I've never collaborated because I've always avoided working outside my safety zone," Sade explained to The National Post. "I can be exactly who I am and can fail or success within the moment. I feel safe working like I do.”

Though it’s nothing personal against the Young Money prince, the pressure of delivering on such a high profile project is a bit much for the singer to endure.

“I wouldn't want to work in a situation where I am expected to deliver because I think I wouldn't deliver,” she offered.

But even if Sade was open to the collaboration, she noted that no one from Drake’s camp has even reached out. “I don't think they have contacted me,” she revealed. As previously reported, Drake recently selected the first single from his much anticipated debut LP.
