Fantasia's 911 Call Released

Published August 11, 2010

Barely a day after reports surfaced that Fantasia Barrino was hospitalized for an apparent overdose on aspirin and a sleep aid, TMZ has released the 911 call that led to the singer being taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville last night (August 10).

"I think the individual took a bottle of aspirin and she’s slowly losing consciousness," the caller told the operator. "I’m outside, but someone is with her inside." [Listen Here]

The operator told the caller to remove Fantasia from the shower, where she had been placed in an attempt to keep her awake, immediately. Cops got to the scene promptly and took the singer to the hospital.

According to police reports obtained by TMZ, the officers who responded to the 911 call were told Barrino tried to commit suicide by taking pills.

The incident came right on the heels of a scandal in which Fantasia was sued for allegedly breaking up a marriage.
