Rumors about Nicki Minaj's sexuality have circulated for some time, but a recent report quotes the Harajuku Barbie denying them. According to Contact Music, Minaj told Q magazine the rumors are "definitely not true."
But, back in 2010, Vibe asked Minaj what it was like to be an openly bisexual rapper and if she thought the rap game was becoming more gay-friendly. She replied, "I think the world is getting more gay-friendly, so hip-hop is too. But it’s harder to imagine an openly gay male rapper being embraced. People view gay men as having no street credibility. But I think we’ll see one in my lifetime."
So which is it? In the latest issue of Q magazine Minaj says, "People are thrown off by me embracing gay culture. But I don't feel the need to explain that. Unless someone asks me a specific question."
What do you think? Has Minaj set the record straight this time, or is the verdict still in the closet?
