Eminem may have recently raised eyebrows with a new song on which he takes shots at Lady Gaga (among other targets), but the notorious jester says the jabs were all in good fun. Speaking with FUSE while at the Bonnaroo music festival, Em said he has respect for Gaga and that the comments about her on "The Kiss," a track off his forthcoming EP with Royce Da 5'9", were just a joke.
“I think Lady Gaga, as an artist, she’s undeniable. That was one of them things where sometimes I get a joke in my head and I kinda want to share it with the world," he explained. "So it was just one of them things, man, and it’s all in fun. It's hip hop.”
On "The Kiss," Em called Gaga a "male lady" and said he "wouldn't f*** her with her own d**k." Despite the choice words, Slim Shady insists that he appreciates the pop megastar's artistry.
"“It is what it is, but as far as an artist, she’s dope, she’s an incredible talent," he said.
The new EP, Hell: The Sequel, is in stores today.
