T.I. to Drop New Single Next Week

T.I.'s been out of prison (for the second time) just over a week and, as expected, he's already hard at work. DJ Drama, who's been in the studio with Tip, says the King of the South is dropping a new single as soon as next week.

"Tip just came home. I was in the studio with him. He's actually about to drop a new song next week." Drama said in an interview with DJ Clue of New York's Power 105 radio.

T.I. is still under strict orders from the Bureau of Prisons and is restricted to a halfway house in Atlanta until September 29, but the Grammy-winning rapper hasn't let that slow him down, according to Drama.

"He's in a halfway house but when you're in a halfway house you can still get to work," the DJ said. "So he's been in the studio during work time and he's banging out. Actually [his time in the halfway house] ends next week. So he'll be in the streets by the BET Hip Hop Awards."

Atlanta is the host city for the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards. Tune in to the show on October 11, 2011, at 8p/7c to see if T.I. makes his first post-jail appearance on television.
