Common has revealed that his latest album, The Dreamer, The Believer, is scheduled to drop Dec. 20. This will be the Chicago rapper's ninth studio album and the first in three years. The record, which was executive produced by No I.D., will feature appearances by Maya Angelou, Nas, and John Legend

“It’s hip-hop music, good music,” Common told Rap-Up TV. “It’s just hip-hop at the essence, soul hip-hop. Because [No I.D. and I have] both grown as artists, now you’re getting songs at a higher level where they can appeal to more people, but it’s still hip-hop rooted.”

On Monday, Common will team up with Niche Media's Los Angeles Confidential Magazine to release the new music video "Sweet." The video was shot in Haiti shortly after an earthquake hit the country in January 2010.

A collection of photos will be available for purchase during the release party at Rose Restaurant in Los Angeles. Fans can also watch the "Sweet" premiere on uStream for $1 with proceeds benefitting the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, which was founded by actor Sean Penn after the earthquake. The fundraiser will air Monday at 8 p.m.
