To many fans, Bob Marley’s name and image are sacred. So it is with his wife Rita Marley and some of his children.

TMZ reports a half-brother of the legendary singer’s named Richard Booker has been using the icon for various marketing ventures, such as for food and the annual 9 Mile Music Festival in Miami which always has huge crowd draws.

Not feeling any of this self-promotion, Marley’s family say they have all rights to anything pertaining to the entertainer. As a result, Bob’s wife Rita and nine of their children are suing Booker for trademark infringement and using the singer’s likeness without permission.

Stephen and Damian Marley are both named as plaintiff's in the suit.
