Their working relationship is so symbiotic that we’ve spent much time admiring how awesome they are together, including naming them one of the greatest rapper-producer duos of all time; now there’s reassuring news that Nas and DJ Premier are still planning to hit the studio together. DJ Premier recently told that he has finally submitted tracks for the full-length project. “I submitted some tracks, so hopefully those will work, but if not, we’re still going to do the Nas/Premier album,” Premier said. “He has other albums that come before, but we’re still going to do it, we’ve spoken about it ... Nas, it’s always fun to work with him because we’ve got a formula and a vibe that already works, so it’s not difficult. It’s like seeing a long-lost cousin.”

It’s a hit-making formula that fans are very familiar with; the duo has worked together steadily since Nas’ Illmatic in 1994. The greatness is not lost on Nasty Nas, either. “Premier brought to the table someone who I felt like was like myself,” he said in an interview where he reminisced on the making of that album. “Premier was more like my guys, we related like that. Premier spoke my language all day, 24/7.” is your #1 source for black celebrity news, photos, exclusive videos and all the latest in the world of hip hop and R&B music.
